Employer Support

The support from employers and community partners is critical in signalling the importance of family in Singapore's society. Schools and pre-school centres will be closed on Teachers' Day 31 August, Friday and employers can do their part to put in place family-friendly workplace options on this day to support family time.

The annual My Family Weekend is back starting from 31 August, Friday to 2 September, Sunday and presents a great opportunity for all employers to show support towards building family-friendly workplaces and strong families in Singapore.       SPD Ability Walk 2018 

      SPD Ability Walk 2018 is the 3rd walk that SPD is organising to raise funds in aid of its programmes and services. They comprise of therapy, vocational skills training, assistive technology, early intervention, day care, employment and educational & social support that enable and empower people with disabilities to be independent and self-reliant.

      This walk aims to provide an opportunity for everyone of different abilities to walk together and serves to promote inclusion and raise awareness of disabilities. There will also be a post-walk carnival where participants can enjoy food, games, activities and stage performances.

Winning Strategies For Family-Friendly Workplace

In partnership with the Embassy of Sweden, the Families for Life Council will organise a seminar on 23 August 2018 to shed light on the winning strategies for a family-friendly workplace that will help strengthen family ties without compromising on business productivity. Participants will get to hear first-hand from leading family-friendly Swedish companies such as Spotify, Ericsson, AstraZeneca and Atlas Copco on harnessing their workplace policies to support their employees and their family lives to foster motivation and positivity in the workplace.

Representatives from the Families for Life Council, National Trades Union Congress (NTUC), Tripartite Alliance for Fair and Progressive Employment Practices (TAFEP) and Workforce Singapore will share insights on how Singapore companies can adopt more family-friendly practices to achieve a work-life integration.
