Journey to the east of Singapore with Arts in Your Neighbourhood this March, as we explore the town of Tampines, once home to sand quarries, prowling tigers, and coconut plantations.
5 new public artworks around Tampines invite you to engage with the people and environment around you in new ways, while an installation by a local visual artist puts a twist on familiar motifs of daily life in the heartlands.
Immerse yourself in the soundscapes of Tampines, as unexpected spaces like markets and carparks come alive with pop-up music and dance performances. Recordings of everyday sounds and stories form the foundation of new tracks by local electronic musicians, while compositions by Tampines residents are performed from a musical truck.
Beyond Tampines, exciting arts experiences await you and the whole family at various other spaces islandwide. Transform an ordinary day into something magical, with fantastical time-travelling operatic singers, short story “vending machines”, and bite-sized classical music pieces.
With more than 50 arts activities happening at 16 locations across the island, there is something suitable for everyone. See you at our events!
