Family Personality Quiz Giveaway Terms and Conditions

1. Quiz Period

1.1 The Families for Life Family Personality Quiz 2017 is conducted by Families for Life to find out about the various types of families we have. The Organiser, Families for Life is a people-led council aimed at promoting strong and resilient families.

1.2 The Families for Life Family Personality Quiz 2017 will run over a period of five (5) days from 2100hrs on Thursday, 27 April 2017 to 2359hrs on Monday, 1 May 2017 on Families for Life’s digital platforms - Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/familiesforlife.sg), April/May 2017 issue of Families for Life eNewsletter and Families for Life Celebrations 2017 webpage (https://bit.ly/fflc2017).

2. Eligibility

2.1 Subject to clause 2.2 below, any person who is 12 years of age and above (persons below 12 years of age is to seek parental or guardian consent before submission of entry), and is a Citizen or Permanent Resident of Singapore may submit an entry to take part in the quiz (“entry”).

2.2 The ballot giveaway for completing the quiz is not open to the Organiser, including officers from the Ministry of the Social and Family Development who are involved in administering the contest, and their immediate family members.

3. How to Win & Prizes

3.1 During the eligible period of participation, participants need to complete the quiz via Families for Life’s Facebook post, April/May 2017 eNewsletter issue or Families for Life Celebrations 2017 webpage. A ballot will be conducted and five (5) entries will be then selected by the Organiser.

3.2 At the end of the quiz period, five (5) balloted valid entries by the Organiser will each win Swensens Dining Vouchers worth $20 and a Families for Life Picnic Cooler Bag.

3.3 The decision on the winning entries and whom the prizes should be awarded to, and what prizes should be awarded shall be made by the Organiser, whose decision shall be final. No entrant will have the right to challenge the Organiser’s decision. The Organiser is not obliged to give any reasons for its decision, and will not engage in any conversation or correspondence with any person regarding its decision.

3.4 The Organiser reserves the right to substitute any prize with one of a similar value. Prizes may not be exchanged with the Organiser for cash.

4. How to Enter

4.1 Entries must be submitted via the online quiz URLs before the end of quiz period.

4.2 If for any reason this quiz and giveaway is not capable of running as planned, whether caused by infection by computer virus, mobile phone failure, line drop out, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other cause beyond the control of the Organiser which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or integrity of the Competition, the Organiser reserves the right in its sole discretion, (subject to any written direction given by a relevant Regulatory Authority), to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition. The Organiser may in its sole discretion disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process.

5. Conditions for a Valid Entry and Rejection of Invalid Entries

5.1 To be valid, the entry submitted must comply with the following requirements:

5.1.1 Meet the eligibility requirements set out in paragraph 2 above;

5.1.2 The entries must not contain any language which is pornographic, obscene, sexually suggestive, racist, in some manner offensive to a particular group or individual, or otherwise deemed inappropriate by the Organisers.

5.2 The Organiser reserves the right to reject (and if necessary, remove) any entry it deems to be in violation of clause 5.1 above at any point during the contest period. Its decision is final. No entrant will have the right to challenge the Organiser’s decision. The Organiser is not obliged to inform the entrant of its decision, to give any reasons for its decision, and will not engage in any conversation or correspondence with any person regarding its decision.

6. Giveaway Administration

6.1 Winners will be announced on the Families for Life Celebrations 2017 webpage within five (5) working days after the quiz ends and be notified via the email submitted.

6.2 The balloted five (5) selected entries are required to submit their full valid details. These details will be used for the sole purpose of validating, verifying and to contact the participants wherever required.

6.3 The Organiser reserves the right to change any of these Terms and Conditions in any manner it sees fit, without prior notice. The Organiser may also terminate the quiz and giveaway, scale it down or otherwise modify it as it sees fit, if it sees the need to do so.

7. Collection of Prizes

7.1 Winners will be notified via emails and reply to Families for Life containing the winner’s full name, NRIC number, full address, mobile number and e-mail address for the redemption of prizes. A letter of redemption will be provided to the winner to collect the prizes.

7.2 Prizes are to be redeemed only at Families for Life Celebrations 2017 Information Counter at Civic District, Padang on Sunday, 28 May 2017 at 9am – 11.30am or 5pm – 7.30pm only. The exact location of redemption will be provided in the letter of redemption.

7.3 If the winners cannot be reached via the email address used to submit the entry (for example if no reply is received within 14 days of notification, or the e-mail is stated by the system to be “undeliverable”), their prize will be forfeited. Prize collection details will be informed via email from engage@familiesforlife.sg.

7.4 In the event of any dispute regarding the identity of the entrant, all entries will be deemed to have been made by name and email address associated with the entry. Thus, if Person A submits an entry with Person B’s email account, for example, Person B will be assumed to have made the entry instead of Person A.

8. Disclaimer of Liability, Indemnity, and Governing Law

8.1 The Organiser will not be responsible for, and need not consider, lost, late, illegible, misdirected, incomplete or garbled entries, no matter what the reason for the entries being lost, late, illegible etc. The reasons may include, but are not limited to technical, hardware, software, telephone or Internet functioning issues, virus contamination, network or human errors, howsoever caused, including through the Organiser’s negligence.

8.2 The Organiser will not use your personal information contained herein for any purposes other than which is deemed necessary for the administration of this contest whilst according your privacy or confidentiality the highest priority.

8.3 Except for death and personal injury resulting from the Organiser’s negligence, the Organiser disclaims all liability for any loss or damage of any nature whatsoever suffered by the entrant which arises from or is connected to his or her participation in the contest.

8.4 The entrant shall indemnify and hold harmless the Organiser against:

(a) any claim or action by any person for loss or damage arising from or which is connected to the entrant’s participation in the contest;

(b) any claim or action by any person for infringement of any intellectual property rights, which infringement arises from or is connected to the entrant’s participation in the contest;

8.5 These terms and conditions shall be subject to, governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore for every purpose and the Singapore courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from the said terms and conditions.
