At 21km, the new Downtown Line 3 (DTL3) is the longest of the blue lines to be opened. It connects 16 stations in eastern Singapore—from Fort Canning to Expo—with interchange stations at MacPherson, Tampines, and Expo. Check out this link for more about DTL3.

With DTL3, you will have greater accessibility to more family-friendly activities located in the central and eastern parts of the island. We’ve shortlisted the places near the DTL3 where you can spend a fun day with your family:

Fort Canning Station (DT20)

Fort Canning Park
There’s something for everyone at this iconic hilltop park. History buffs will enjoy exploring archaeological sites and historic locations located within the park. Nature lovers will relish being steeped in the park’s lush, natural surroundings. Situated on a hill, a walk around the park makes for a good family workout. Pack along some snacks and sandwiches and have yourself a lovely picnic after exploring it. Find out more details on Fort Canning Park and its special events here.

Bencoolen Station (DT21)

Fun fact: This station is hands-down the deepest MRT station in Singapore — at 43m below street level!

Urban PlaySpace
Just 5 minutes away at Fortune Centre is Urban PlaySpace, where radio control races are regularly organised at the rooftop of the building’s multi-storey car park. Your children will be delighted to see the Radio Control (RC) cars in action, plus family members seeking respite from the heat can get comfortable in an air-conditioned area. Check out their Facebook page for more information.

Families who prefer a more laid-back day can choose to chill on a floating deck, go fishing or bird watch at the park.
