Singapore has often been cited as a pioneer in using city planning to create a vibrant, green and world class tropical city. Visit the URA Centre and understand the policies, thinking and guiding values which have driven the progress we have made as a city state.

At the Singapore City Gallery situated within the URA Centre, you will be able to walk through galleries which showcase the development of Singapore into a modern city.  There are also several interactive features which you might enjoy.

Singapore Light and Sound Show

In addition to discovering how the city of Singapore was built, your senses will be treated to several multimedia presentations and a pulsating five-minute video. Filmed over a period of 24 hours, the video captures the heartbeat of Singapore’s landmarks, heartlands and people. Its impressive 270-degree view will make you want to watch it again and again.

Sustainable City Video Game

Make sure you play the Sustainable City video game as a family as well. Six players can simultaneously take part in building a sustainable and liveable city and try their hand at creating and balancing industrial spaces, residential areas, parks, offices and tourist spots.

This may prove to be a bigger challenge than you think! You gain points when people are satisfied with the living conditions you have created for them.
