Families for Life Celebrations 2016



Families for Life will be kicking off the first in a year-long series of picnics with our Celebrations at the Civic District! Held in conjunction with Car-Free Sunday SG on 29 May 2016, come with your family and join us for a day of fun-filled activities.
There will be family friendly programming and activities throughout the day. In the morning, Get Active with Families for Life with a morning walk and breakfast picnic or Chill Out with Families for Life in the evening with a cool and relax "drive-in" movie screening and picnic.

Treasures of the World from the British Museum

Gardens by the Bay's Tulipmania Floral Display


The beloved "Tulipmania" returns to Gardens by the Bay! This year, trace back the history of the tulips to the ancient Ottoman Empire. Be dazzled by the colourful carpets of tulips in the Persian-inspired floral display. You can also pick up a special edition Tulipmania Garden Trail or join in the daily "ASK Me!" tours to learn more about the floral display. Istana Open House and Nature Guided Walks


The Istana opens for visitors on Sunday, 1 May. Admission to the Istana grounds is free for Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents. Enjoy a variety of performances on the grounds and for an entrance fee of $2 for Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents, you could tour selected function rooms in the Istana building and view a special display of gifts presented to the President and the Prime Minister. There are also guided tours of the Istana building, conducted by the Preservation of Sites and Monuments (PSM) volunteers. You can also sign up for the Nature Guided Walk by NParks for a small fee during the Open House, which will showcase the Istana’s flora, fauna and biodiversity. The guided walk is conducted hourly and starts from 10am to 4pm. Look out for signs on the Istana grounds to find out where you can register for the guided walk.
