Families for Life: Raising Resilient Children Seminar

Charis Patrick
A highly sought after Family & Marital Therapist, and Family Life Educator, Charis Patrick has regaled thousands with her practical and enriching insights into family-life, work-life issues and personal effectiveness. Passionate in helping to strengthen families, she is often interviewed by major papers and media to share her perspectives on social and family issues. While based in Malaysia, she was also a coloumnist writing on issues related to raising teens and tweens.

Colin and May Schooling 

May and Colin Schooling
Parents of Singapore's first Olympic gold medallist, May and Colin Schooling have played a pivotal role in their son's development and achievements. They believe strong family support is key in helping a child achieve their dreams. While they view ownership and self-discipline as defining qualities, they stressed that a parent's love will elevate a child to greater heights. 

 

Hendriawan Selemat 

Hendriawan Selemat
Mr Hendriawan Selemat is a Senior Guidance Specialist from Ministry of Education (Singapore). As an advocate for mental health education and resilience building, he champions these efforts to raise awareness among students, teachers and parents. He completed his masters at Harvard Graduate School of Education in 2016, specialising in Human Development and Psychology. He is involved in developing resources, conducting training as well as providing consultancy to schools to strengthen students' resilience and mental well-being.

Sarojini Pad 

Sarojini Padmanathan
Mrs Sarojini was appointed to the Families for Life Council in 2013, and she has played an active role as a family advocate to encourage families in Singapore to prioritise #FamilyTime and strengthen marriage and inter-gerenational ties. Mrs Sarojini is also a Family Life Educator and Triple P facilitator. She believes in the importance of active parenting and continues to share her experience and tips with parents regularly on how they can better understand their children and mould positive values from young.
